Today I felt like I really put my daily affirmation to work...
“Be Positive no matter how stressed or tired I am.”
When I woke up this morning I was starting to feel the stress build as I was desperately trying to finish our mileage from 2016 to send to our accountant. I kept looking at the time to see if I would have enough time to pack my lunch and make breakfast to go; then clean up my mess and tidy up our place.
That’s when I decided to stop what I was doing and write in my 'Five Minute Journal.’ This journal has made a tremendous impact in my life thus far and its only been two full committed months I’ve been writing in it.
Everyday I write three things I am grateful for, three things that would make today great and a Daily Affirmation of ‘I am…’ Then, before I go to bed, I share three Amazing things that happened today and How could I have made today even better?
Doing this daily has really changed the way I take action on my day, getting outside of my comfort zone and really noticing the little things that happen daily planned or unplanned; can end up being amazing. I take more time to really think about what I am grateful for and being asked that everyday forces me to look at everything more delicately.
In every interaction today, I felt positive. After my tax stress was over and I was on my way to Starbucks. I ordered my current favorite Starbucks drink ‘Toasted Coconut Cold Brew’ ( + an extra shot and 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla) and it was delicious. When I got back into my car, my stereo (which by the way has a mind of it’s own and likes to turn off) all of the sudden turned back on.

I met with a young woman this morning who is a cousin of one of my cousins. (So Filipino right?) Anyway, I asked a lot of questions, listened and coached her through her first session with me. I felt a connection and knew I wanted to help her. I also had a positive conversation with one of my clients. I reminded her that she is strong and to continue pushing towards your goals because I believe she can achieve them. I found myself throughout my day feeling these positive vibes which really pushed me to be patient and listen.
My workout today also sent me positive energy. I was able to do barbell strict presses pain free. I dumbbell bench pressed with 35 pounds for the first time in months. I had to warmup a lot to get there but it was doable. Being able to do those movements felt amazing and brought me a sense of confidence that my daily affirmation can come to life if I take action.
Ending on a positive note (of course), today I really felt the sense of ‘teamwork’ between Albert and I. We are both are handling a lot on our plate lately but we took the time to listen and support each other through our stressful day.
It’s the days like today -- that really leave you feeling grateful you have a partner who shares the same core values and brings positivity into your life so you can help bring positivity into other peoples lives too.

Stay Positive,
Mesha
