It's a Girl! Gender Reveal | Mesha's Pregnancy Journal (Week 20)

Monday, August 27th, 2018

Holy crap! I am 20 weeks pregnant and man I am feeling it!

Baby Park is the size of a Banana measuring in 6.50 inches and weighing 10.1 ounces. Even though I went to bed at 11:30pm last night (fell asleep reading, ‘Crazy Rich Asians’) I still didn’t want to really wake up today. I felt super heavy and bloated due to the pizza we had for dinner last night. This resulted in all of my meals being ate late because I just wasn’t feeling all that hungry.

And of course… I felt like I needed to sweat so I jumped on the bike after I was done coaching my morning ladies and did some steady state cardio for 30 minutes. That felt good!

Today was BUSY and I am feeling slightly stressed/overwhelmed. Now that I am halfway through this pregnancy thing, I am now starting to think about the Baby Shower and Registry… OH goodness. Thank goodness for Albert because I know he will be a huge help with the registry.

The HIGHLIGHT of my day was when one of our members, Andrea surprised me with FOUR bags of Nacho Cheese PAQUI Chips!!!

I was ecstatic!!! If you haven’t had those chips, you need to try them, they are delicious and addicting.

Thank you Andrea for making my day!

On another note.. Albert got on me tonight about being on my feet far too long today and to let him do more.

That’s just hard to do (for me!).

I am going to work on this.

Today is a special day because it is my little sister Divina’s 27th Birthday! I am so excited for her and to see all that she conquers, learns and prospers this year.

I had a little bit of a rough night of sleeping last night because my throat was hurting and my nose is kind of stuffy. I wonder if it is from the smoke in the air and poor air quality last week?

I still didn’t want to wake up today and I slept a total of 7 hours last night. Feeling less heavy today and I am down 2lbs from yesterday to 135lbs. My weight fluctuates a lot these days and is affected by the foods that I eat. If it is high in sodium, my weight will jump up a ton. So I have been trying to keep my weekdays a little cleaner and I am still tracking my macros even though I may be going over or a little under on some days. Weekends I am still staying more flexible.

I did a little bit of work this morning and then took the pups for a walk. It was such a nice day and I was feeling good so I got them puppicinnos from the Starbucks and they were so happy!

Training today felt pretty good and I am still feeling strong. I was stoked and thankful to be able to still do Barbell Thrusters and Kipping Pull-ups. This will probably be the last time I do kipping pull-ups for a while, so I definitely made today’s training day a memory not to forget.

Ugh, my nose is still feeling stuffy and I am feeling a little wheezy in my chest. At this point I am thinking this is a pregnancy thing? The air quality has been pretty horrible lately due to the forest fires, so that definitely could be playing a factor.

Since I was getting pretty fed up with the stuffy nose, I gave into Albert's pestering and decided to give the Netty Pot a try.

Albert delightfully showed me how to do it, he thinks he's a professional and swears by that thing! (It was ok, lol!)

I went on the Assault Bike again today for 20 minutes and burned 105 calories. It feels good to move and gave me some motivation to stay productive and a little more energy for my barbell class. Some of my energy also came from the Golden Grahams S’mores Cereal Bar. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must try. They are hard to find at any grocery store so your best bet is your local gas station. Cereal bars who would of thought. Yes, they are high in sugar and carbs but I snack on it before my workout for a little extra energy since I'm not really getting in any caffeine.

Weird Thing That Happened Today:

I sneezed and peed in my pants a little.

I have a feeling this will be happening again.

Even though I am still dealing with a headache, stuffy nose and congestion, today was a fun day because I went on a Brunch date with one of our coaches, Jodeci. It was sort of a funny adventure because we had planned on going to Tillikum Cafe in Seattle but it was closed! We walked up to the door and it was locked. Then we saw the sign that it is only open for brunch on the weekends. Opps! That was a huge fail on our parts for not paying attention to that detail.

We decided to hit up 'Macrina Bakery' since I remembered eating there for brunch before and they have delicious baked goods and bread. There was a parking spot right in front which made me feel we were in for a treat. When we walked in we learned that they don’t serve sit down brunch on weekdays! Jodeci and I both started laughing because we couldn’t believe this was happening again.

So, our last resort was ‘Lola' a Tom Douglas restaurant which is always a great go to brunch spot. We only had to wait for a table for 15 minutes which was really nice. Brunch was as always delicious and I decided to try their Banana Walnut Chocolate Chip bread and it was amazing!! It hit the spot for sure. We also stopped by Dahlia Bakery for a cookie of course. (Pro Tip: For the Holiday season they sell pie crust and cookie dough!!)

I fit in a short conditioning WOD right after Ceybom and Jackson stopped by to say hello and dropped off some yummy Chicken Spring Rolls. I can’t believe how fast Jackson is growing. He is so cute and sweet.

Gender Reveal Day and guess what!???

*Drumroll Please*

WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!

Although we were hoping to have a boy, we sort of had a feeling it was a girl. Albert was a little sad I think but I know he is truly happy that our baby girl is strong, healthy and has 10 fingers and 10 toes.

Now it’s time to brainstorm baby names and go through the lists we've started.

After my ultrasound appointment/gender reveal, we went to ‘Little Brother’ in Kirkland for Brunch and we had the best waffle EVER! Everything from their latte to their pouched eggs was so good.

We spent the rest of the day shopping at Nordstrom Rack and Target to search for ideas on how to announce the gender of our baby to the world! As for our immediate family, we just called them and told them over the phone. They are so excited! Of course my dad said, “You are going to have to try again so you can have a boy.” Ha! Of course, Dad.

Our evening was spent with Nicole and Gil at ‘Monsoon' in Bellevue where we had a delicious dinner and great conversations. It’s always nice to get together with friends and spend quality time outside of the gym together.

Started our Saturday off with our 'Bring The Reign Challenge Info Meeting’ then we fit in a nice workout together. Andrea surprised me with another bag of Nacho Cheese Paqui chips! I am stocked up for a while now.

I felt a little tired today and had a headache. I knew that some pho would make me feel better (that’s what our baby girl was telling me too!) so we had Pho for lunch. I felt a little adventurous and tried a Vietnamese crepe.

I loved the crunch texture and the pho definitely hit the spot and made me feel better.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing at home on the couch (me falling asleep and napping) while watching Netflix. We’ve been binging on ’The Sinner’ and ended up watching a Netflix original movie called, ‘Ali’s Wedding’ which was a cute romcom.

Dinner was a new experience since we decided to try Katsu Burger take out. It was pretty tasty. I liked the beef burger better and the chicken breast katsu bites.

Fell asleep on the couch! It’s a normal thing these days and our couch is so comfy.

Good night.

The weather was so nice today which made my trip to Tacoma for my girlfriend Tafona’s Baby Shower enjoyable. She is also having a baby girl and her name is Chanel Mona'e Ervin.

What a name right??

The shower was everything pink, lots of games and the decorations were so cute. Everything was definitely planned out by Tafona.

When I got back home, Albert and I headed to the Jang's house to celebrate Daniels’ 16th Birthday. Can’t believe he is 16 already! We had a great time celebrating his special day with close friends who are literally like family to us. Plus, we were surrounded by so much delicious food and homemade cake with sprinkles! (Kudos to Mary Jang on that homemade yellow cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles!)

But let’s be real here… this whole week was surrounded by yummy food!

Oh, the joys of being pregnant.
